Is this a timed event?

Yes and no. You get to choose! During registration either select the option to do the fun run without timing or the option to upgrade to a timed run.


Can I walk?
Run, walk, skip or jog… It’s all good!


Will the course be lit with light?

To achieve the glow theme of the event portions will not be lit up. Participant safety is a major concern of ours and we recommend participating with a flashlight or headlamp.


What is packet pick up?
This is where you pick up all your gear. We definitely recommend going to pre event packet pick up so you’re all ready to go when you arrive at the event. To find packet pick up details go to your cities individual page and all the information will be posted there at least 2 weeks prior to the event.


Can I pick up someone else’s packet?
Yes, but you will need a signed waiver and copy of a photo ID from that person.

Can I change my shirt size after I've already registered?

Yes, you can change your shirt size up until the Monday before the event. Here's how:

1) Click on "Manage Registration" in your confirmation e-mail.

2) Click on the blue tab "Giveaway"

3) Select the t-shirt size you would like

4) Click Continue and then Confirm Changes and you're finished!

*Please note you cannot change shirt sizes at packet pick up; however, once the event has finished we will be happy to exchange your shirt as long as it has not been worn.


Groupon/Living Social/Daily Deals

If you purchased a Groupon, Living Social or another daily deal YOU ARE NOT YET REGISTERED FOR THE GLO RUN. You must go through The Glo Run's registration process and apply the code you were given with your purchase at check out. This will cover your registration costs and you'll officially be registered for The Glo Run!


If you missed online registration bring your Groupon, Living Social or other daily deal printed out voucher to packet pick up or the event and we'll be more than happy to get your registered there.


How can I create, join and manage a group/team?

You can create or join a group/team during the registration process right on the very first page under "Group/Team." If you don't wish to join a group/team that's a-okay as well.


After registration if you would like to create, join, remove yourself or manage your team follow these steps:

1) Click on "Manage Registration" in your confirmation e-mail.

2) Click on the blue tab "Group/Team"

3) From there you can manage your group/team status


*Please note that some aspects of group/team management may only be allowed by the team administrator.


If you created a password and can't quite remember it. Shoot us an e-mail and we'll be happy to help you reset it.


Team sunglasses
Teams of 5 or more receive free neon sunglasses. Teams must reach 5 members before regular online registration closes. You cannot join a team if you registered during extended online registration, at packet pick up or on event day.


Are there age limits?
There is no age limit.  Though, it is dark so if you’re under 12 please have an adult sign up with you. Children 10 years old or younger can register for the event for $5.99. A parent or guardian does need to accompany them on event day. The child participant will not receive the race gear that a full price adult 5k run/walk participant receives unless they buy the race gear during online registration.


How can I volunteer for The Glo Run?

Thank you for your interest in volunteering! Please send us an e-mail at info@theglorun.com and include your full name, e-mail address, if you're volunteering by yourself or with others and for what city you would like to volunteer for.


How long is this event?
Most events are a true 5k (3.1 miles) run/walk. In a few cities due to course layouts the course could be slightly shorter or longer.


Can I run with my iPod?
We don’t think iPods/earbuds/headsets are a good idea and it is the participant’s responsibility to make sure that they do not impair their ability to hear, see, sense, and detect present or potential hazards and dangers.


Can I participate with my dog?
No dogs.


Can I participate with a stroller?
Strongly not recommended. It is dark, loud, flashing lights, variable terrain and a lot of people. Not the best place for a baby. Strollers are permitted for walkers only.


Will there be water for participants on the course?

There will be one water station located about half way through the course. Feel free to run with your own water as well.


Are there refunds?
There are no refunds so please make sure you have cleared your schedule for a great time before signing up. Still can't make it? You can transfer your registration to another runner. See "Can I transfer my registration?" below.


Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes, all participants must sign a waiver.


Can I transfer my registration?
You can transfer your registration for $6 + processing fees to another person until the Monday before the event.  You cannot transfer to another city or to next year. Here's how to transfer to another runner:

1) Click on "Manage Registration" in your confirmation e-mail.

2) Then, click on the blue tab "Transfer to Another Runner"

3) Enter the new runner's first name, last name and e-mail address

4) Choose your transfer type

5) Confirm the transfer information and click the blue transfer button

Is there a gear check?
It depends on the event. At some events there will be gear check where you can check your gear before the event and pick it up after the event.  It is monitored but we are not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Please see your city's event info page.


Will any color or paint be thrown at me?

No color or paint will be thrown at you during the event, we promise! There is the option to get painted up before the race at our body paint station. Please note this paint is meant for the body so keep it off your clothes and hair. Body paint also includes latex.



The event will start rain or shine, though delays could occur due to weather conditions. In extreme cases beyond anyone's control the event could be cancelled in which you would receive a free registration to one of next year's events. For safety reasons, the on-course and finish line effects may be modified or eliminated in the event of rain due to their electrical nature.


Giving Back:

As a for-profit healthy entertainment event, we love the opportunity to help raise funds for and provide exposure to the charities we work with. We have helped to raise over $100,000 for partner charities and we encourage all participants to be a part of the giving and donate during registration.
