Asics men’s shoes are about a full size big; thus, they require sizing down from many other brands. However, Asics women’s shoes run true to size.

The chart below will help you get the right size of Asics shoes for yourself. However, we still recommend that you measure your foot length first.

When we compared Asics sizing to other brands, we realized that it corresponds to that of New Balance, Brooks, and Saucony. However, there’s half a size difference with Sketchers, but a full-size difference with Adidas and Nike.

Asics running shoes have a predictable sizing. As such, expect all their shoe models and types to fit comfortably right out of the box.

Some of their models, such as Asics Gel Lyte sneakers, usually feature a tapered toe box. If you have wide feet, I advise that you opt for the wider option.

However, most Asics race shoes have a snug and small fit. We, therefore, recommend that you check the specific information for the shoe that you want to buy.

Note that Asics as a brand isn’t generous when it comes to width variations. However, you can get about 10 percent of Asics shoes in wide options. You can also get 15 percent of their shoes in extra wide.

So, is Nike true to size?

Although considered as being notorious for running small, Nike running shoes run true to size. You will find its sizing different from that of other brands. However, Nike’s sizing scheme is very close to the average.

The only shoe brands that are close in size to Nike are Converse and Jordan. These two share Nike’s shoe sizing.

The other closest brand to Nike’s sizing is Adidas.

Expert tip: Note that Nike’s shoes are not so friendly for wider feet. Only less than 5 percent of Nike’s running shoes are available in either wide or extra wide width options.

Brooks is a consistent brand in the design and sizing of their footwear. As a result, it is a go-to choice for running enthusiasts.

If you are looking to buy a pair of Brooks shoes, the manufacturer recommends going half-a-size to a full-size bigger than your regular shoes. However, if you own a pair of New Balance, Asics, or Saucony running shoes, you can use the same size.

Nonetheless, always ensure that you measure the exact length of your foot anytime you are ordering a pair to avoid messing up on sizing.
